Dis-Chem Learnerships – This Learnership serves to equip learners to understand the underlying principles of major areas related to the pharmaceutical environment. The qualification allows for a number of career paths in the Dispensary Department, thereby promoting the notion of quality lifelong learning. The successful applicant will receive on the job training and a Qualified Pharmacist Assistant Basic qualification.

Dis-Chem Learnerships Requirements

Essential:
Grade 12 / Matric
Subjects: Grade 12 Mathematical, Life Science and/or Physical Science (with at least an average of 50% for all)
Good communication skills
Willing and able to work retail hours
Excellent customer service skills
Fluent in English (read, write and speak)
Work in line with the South African Pharmacy Council Scope of Practice
Team player
Time management
Job Specification

Dis-Chem Learnerships Description:

Assist in the sale of Schedule 1 medicines or scheduled substances
Assist with the compounding, manipulation or preparation of a non-sterile medicine or scheduled substance, according to a formula and standard operating procedures approved by the Responsible Pharmacist
Assist with the manufacturing of a non-sterile medicine or scheduled substance according to a formula and standard operating procedures approved by the responsible pharmacist
Assist the re-packaging of medicine
Assist in the distribution and control of stock of Schedule 1 to Schedule 5 medicines or scheduled substances
Provide information to individuals in order to promote health
