Maize Trust Bursary

Maize Trust Bursary will be awarding bursaries within fields related to the Agricultural sector and to the South African maize industry. Note this bursary is only for students planing to further their education in Masters and Doctoral studies.

Maize Trust bursary will be awarded to the value of R78 334 per annum for MSc students for a period of 2 years and R94 817 per annum for PhD students for a period 3 years.

Bursary funding must cover the following:

  • Tuition Fees
  • Prescribed Textbooks
  • Living Expenses
  • Other Study Material

Once students have graduated, they must work within the maize industry of South Africa, for a duration of time equal to that of the bursary received

Maize Trust Bursary Requirement

Applicants must meet the following criteria before applying:

  • South African citizen
  • Successfully Completed Matric
  • Studying full time within one of the aforementioned fields of study (MSc or PhD only)
  • Studying at a recognised University in South Africa
  • Intend on conducting a thesis on a topic that has been approved by the Maize Trust
  • Willing to work within the South African maize industry after completing your studies
