Bursaries are normally provided for a first degree or diploma and could include the first year of study. Applications by students who have already successfully completed at least one year of tertiary study and have thus proven their academic ability, are preferred.
Transnet bursary is seen as comprehensive in that it covers all costs that students incur during their period of study. Here is what these bursaries cover:

Selection is based on Academic Records, Academic Performance and Field of study. Applications will be required to undergo psychometric assessments.
Successful scholarship applicants will be required to sign a contract and return to South Africa upon completion of studies.
